The World’s Largest Seawater Desalination Project in PPP

In June 2009, Victoria State of Australia awarded the world largest seawater desalination project in PPP (public-private-partnership) mode to SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT and its subsidiary Degremont, who are a part of the Aquasure consortium. This BOT contract term is 30 years, including: financing, design, construction and 27 years operation. The project creates an ecological space through the magnificent replanting plan and reduces carbon emission by using the wind energy, so as to protect the environment. It has been put into operation in 2012 and has a daily production capacity of 450,000 m3.
