Tsinghua University - SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT 2014 Environmental Resources Forum

Environmental Resources Forum 2014, jointly organized by Tsinghua University’s School of Environmental Studies and SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, was convened in Shanghai on December 11 & 12, 2014. Mr. Zhang Chun, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Administrative Committee, attended and presented his welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Professor ZuoJian’e, Vice Dean of Tsinghua University’s School of Environmental Studies, and Mr. Steve Clark, CEO for SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT Asia, addressed the forum. Mr. Alan Thompson, Executive Vice President of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT China, hosted the forum. Over 130 experts and industry counterparts from SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, Tsinghua University and across the nation participated in the forum.


Two sessions, which focused on water utilities and solid waste respectively, were held during the forum. The former was based on the themes of “management of water resources in industrial parks” and “wastewater recycling”, while the latter focused on the themes of “resource utilization of solid waste” and “soil remediation”. Experts from Tsinghua University’s School of Environment, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT and the industry introduced the status quo and development trend at home and abroad, policies and standards, treatment and disposal technologies as well as relevant project cases. 


On December 12, the attendees were brought on a tour of two key demonstration projects of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT in Shanghai, namely SCIP Sino French Water and SITA Waste Services Ltd.
